Who We Are

In this section you will find information relating to social care workforce development and the work of Skills for Care in the East of England.

The team currently consists of 5 members (you can hear more about our roles in the 'what we do' section):

James Cross – Regional Development Manager

Kathryn Chamberlain – Senior Regional Development Officer

Lee Stribling – Workforce Planning and Development Project Manager

Michelle Vinall – Regional Development Officer (Employer Engagement)

Caterina Coppola – Office Manager

The key responsibilities of the team are to work with social care employers, people who use services and carers, training providers and key regional partners in the Eastern region to support the training and development of social care staff in the region. We do this in a variety of ways which you can find out more about in this area of the website. In summary, there are seven broad work areas that focus our work in the region which link to the Regional Sector Skills Agreement (SSA) and also the National Skills for Care Business Plan:

  • Brokerages
  • Social Work Development
  • National Minimum Data Set – Social Care
  • Continuing Professional Development
  • Transformation
  • Information and Knowledge
  • Recruitment and Retention

The work of Skills for Care Eastern is supported and directed by our Regional Committee (which meets 3 times per year), under the guidance of our co-chairs Jo Hough and Sarah Childerstone.

Much of our day-to-day work in supporting social care employers in the development of their workforce is carried out by the Social Care Brokerages (which we provide funding to). You can find contact details of your local brokerage in the 'what we do' section under 'brokerages'.

We hope that you find the site helpful and that you can find the information you are looking for. We are more than happy to receive any feedback that you may have.
